Do Bengal cats like water?

Yes, in general Bengal cats tend to like water more than the average domestic cat. They are seen drinking from taps (faucets) and taking a bath or a shower with you! There are reports of Bengal cats peeing in their drinking water -weird cat behavior people say but it is actually completely normal.

The fact that Bengal cats like water comes from its wild cat heritage. The Bengal cat is a wild cat hybrid and the wild cat parent is the leopard cat that likes water. It hunts near water courses where there is a good supply of prey items. The leopard cat might pee in the water to hide its scent.

Other wild cat hybrids such as the Savannah cat are the same in this regard.
