Reddit forbids sad content on their r/aww community

The subreddit r/aww which is a large group of users who are on the site to post "Things that make you go AWW! -- like puppies, bunnies, babies, and so on"  cannot post sad stuff. Good or bad? Strange or common sense?

It just seems very unnecessarily controlling to me. Sometimes things that make you go aww can be slightly sad.

These are the rules on reddit.com for this 'subreddit'.

Pretty strict, I'd say. It seems that the admin boys have learned from experience that a lot of rules pays dividends. They think that they have to have them as users tend to do naughty things.

It also has to be original content. I wonder if they'd allow an image created by an AI computer to the specific instructions of a reddit.com user? Each time you do that the image is unique and created for the person giving the instructions.

For instance here is an image created by Bing's Copilot to the following instructions for the r/aww subreddit.

"Create an image with barn cat mother feeding her four kittens in a bed of hay while the setting sun shines through the barn door as a horse stands near the door."

Here is the image created to order. Not bad.

Here is the reddit post. Reddit admin deemed it to be original content. Great. It is what I thought they'd do. Or hoped they'd do.

"Today I said goodbye to my buddy Benjamin: never experienced a more affectionate and loving kitty."

The full title: "Today I said goodbye to my buddy Benjamin. I adopted him as an older kitty and have never experienced a more affectionate and loving kitty. He was one in a million" is direct from reddit.com. I feel I need to comment on it here, on this website. When I comment on reddit.com it disappears. No idea why. I find the photo very sad. I guess I can feel the guy's distress as I have been through it before several times.  The passing of my first cat hurt the most. It was over 25 years ago and I still feel the emotional pain. It will never leave me.

They say cats are members of the family. It is true and for me her passing was more distressing than the passing of my sister, mother and father. None of these deaths were anywhere near as painful as the passing of my darling cat. It was love. Anyway, I won't go on as it is too maudlin. Shouldn't indulge in self-pity. Have to move on.

This guy's cat almost looks like a Bengal cat because of the strong tabby markings and the rich, golden brown background colour: very reminiscent of the Bengal. But I don't think so. He says that he adopted him as an older cat which might indicate a rescue cat. His cat looks elderly in the picture.

You can build a friendship with a cat even if initially you are not sure. Just be consistently loving and interact gently and frequently, over years and bingo, you will probably be handsomely rewarded with a very loving and attentive cat companion who'll sleep on your arm as you see in this photo from reddit.com.

Nimbus the cat's transformation is legendary

"A little TLC can turn a crinkled tissue into a beautiful cloud. Nimbus's transformation was legendary.." - the person who posted the pics to Reddit.
Notice that the before pictures shows Nimbus with 'pink eye'  a secondary bacterial infection so typical of stray and abandoned cats. If left it can cause the loss of an eye or eyes. It is cured with antibiotics. See best antibiotics for a cat bite - another story completely.

Not sure of the backstory and history of this white cat. It has to be pretty dire. I am guessing that Nimbus was a rescued kitten or young cat who flowered with plenty of TLC (tender loving care) into a cool-looking white gem. It is always the same reason for the before look and the same reason for the after look. Neglect, abuse or abandonment causes the before look and a ton of genuine love and care results in the after appearance.
