Do Chinese eat cats?

Some Chinese eat cats and dogs. It is not happening everywhere in China and not all Chinese people eat cats. Some Vietnamese also eat cats. The eating of cats probably occurs in other Asian countries too.

The eating cats and dogs happens in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China and other places I suspect. It happens on quite a large scale and feral cats and perhaps some domestic cats are rounded up in places as far away as Beijing, the capital. They are shipped in by lorry. The same happens to dogs.

I have a page on this: cat meat name and shame. I don't like it but I have no right to criticize. The West has a lot of bad things about it to. One aspect is the cruel manner by which the cats are killed. It is all quite horrible. The cat fur trade is very big in China as well. That is also very cruel and indefensible.

I had a thought as to why this happens in China: Confucian philosophy is partly to blame.
