Anthony Hopkins in Morocco holding a ginger tabby kitten with toxic lilies in the background?

Anthony Hopkins has an Instagram account with 5.2 million followers. The large number of followers is unsurprising. I was a little surprised to learn that he likes or loves cats and used to have a domestic cat companion until quite recently.

In an Instagram posting he has published a nice, quite serious photograph of him sporting a grizzly, grey beard holding a cute Moroccan ginger tabby cat or is this a calico cat because I see some black as well. No matter. But if the cat is a ginger tabby he is likely to be male and if the cat is a calico she is likely to be female.

I'm told that Anthony Hopkins is an advocate for Moroccan cats and I think that applies to street cats of which there are quite a lot in Morocco thanks to the weather and also thanks to the fact that there is probably not enough spaying and neutering of community cats in that country which is quite typical or with respect not untypical.

His post says: "From Ouarzazate, Morocco, with love. ❤️🐱 "

It's a good photograph. I like its seriousness and the inquisitiveness of the kitten.

BUT -- Do I see lilies in the background? If I do then I am afraid to say this is a huge mistake because lilies are pretty well lethal for domestic cats if and when they come into contact with even small amounts of pollen or indeed any part of the plant can cause serious injury or be fatal. I have posted a warning to Mr Hopkins in a comment.

Some lilies are safe but by and large all cat owners should never introduce lilies into their home.

P.S. please forgive the occasional typo. These articles are written at breakneck speed using Dragon Dictate. I have to prepare them in around 20 mins. Also: sources for news articles are carefully selected but the news is often not independently verified. Also, I rely on scientific studies but they are not 100% reliable.

Here is the photo again in case the embedded image above disappears:
