Cat Teaching Kids to Box Or What?

This is a very odd cat video but then again lots of them are so it does not surprise me.  But what is going on?  The online newspapers say that this father of the kittens is teaching them how to fight like a boxer punching with his fists. That is a cute explanation but I am not sure that it is correct.  It would be extraordinary if it is correct because firstly the cat would have to learn how to box (!) and then decide that his kittens should also learn how to box or fight with their fists....not sensible ;)

Highly unlikely -  but I do remember a video of a cat watching boxers on television and he was copying them.

It is all rather mystifying but there may be something in the fact that the domestic cat is learning from the activities of his or her human caretaker.  Cats do learn by observation.  That is a pretty well-known fact by now.

The actions and the activity that this white cat have, on the face of it, nothing to do with normal cat activity and therefore he may well have learnt what he is doing from television or from the people with whom he lives.

Who knows?  Perhaps we should not even be bothered to think about it but simply enjoy the video instead.
