Here are the answers to the lion quiz in the order asked:

- 35 mph - not that fast by some wildcat standards (cheetah 60-70 mph in bursts)
- False - lions hunt at night (dusk) - domestic cats do the same. Their special eyesight gives them an edge on the prey.

- Theodore Roosevelt - he was a big game hunter and conservationist (I never understand how these two go together!). The lion was placed in a zoo and is now stuffed in the Smithsonian Institute.
- Typically 40 lbs and sometimes up to 75 lbs.
- True due to a short pregnancy.
- False. The answer is 18 months.
- Eyes that are well adapted to low light
- Mane that gets darker with age. Females like dark manes signifying higher testosterone levels, apparently.
